The March 2026 edition replaced the October 2020 version. Use it for test administration questions; FM 7-22 remains the training system.

How is the Army Fitness Test scored, and what is a passing score?
Each event is scored from 0 to 100 points, so the maximum total is 500. A Soldier must earn at least 60 points in every event to pass. Failing a single event fails the test regardless of the total.

How often must Soldiers take a record fitness test?
Active component Soldiers take two record tests per year. Reserve component Soldiers take one record test per year. Commanders may direct diagnostic tests more often, but a diagnostic is not a test of record.
