A reference library, not an authority

Military Study Guide is an independent reference library. It exists because the material a Soldier needs — a publication number, a form, a standard, a board answer — is scattered across a dozen systems, and the sites that used to gather it have either gone dark or never looked like anything you would want to read.

It is not a replacement for a publication. It is a way to find the right one quickly, understand what is in it before you open a 300-page PDF, and check yourself against it.

Publications, forms, and regulatory standards are drawn from the Army Publishing Directorate and other official Department of Defense sources. Government works are not subject to copyright, but that is not why we cite: we cite so you can verify.

Summaries, quick-reference cards, and board questions are written by us. They are our reading of the source, not the source itself. Where a card states a number — a range, an inventory frequency, a point value, a score — the governing publication is named next to it.

No service seal, emblem, crest, or rank insignia appears anywhere on this site. Those marks are protected, and using them would imply an endorsement that does not exist. The service colors are used for wayfinding only.

Army publications are revised constantly, and a study site that goes stale is worse than no study site at all. Two habits keep that in check: every publication record carries the edition date we verified, and every page links to the official record so you can see for yourself whether a newer edition has dropped.

Treat anything here as a starting point. Before you brief it, sign for it, or answer for it, confirm it against the current publication.

If something here is wrong, it should be fixed rather than argued about. Send the page, the specific statement, and the publication and paragraph that contradicts it. Corrections backed by a citation get made quickly.
