ID Tag Chains

Stainless-steel bead-chain set for wearing identification (dog) tags: a long neck chain of about 27 inches plus a short 5.5-inch extension loop that suspends the second tag. Standard issue for carrying the two-tag set required in uniform.

Insect Repellent (DEET)

Military-issue controlled-release DEET lotion (about 33 percent DEET) applied to exposed skin to repel mosquitoes, ticks, chiggers, and flies for up to 12 hours. Part of the DoD Insect Repellent System along with permethrin-treated uniforms.

Wet Weather Poncho

A lightweight ripstop nylon rain poncho with hood, snaps, and corner grommets. Soldiers wear it over the uniform and gear in wet weather and also rig it as a hasty shelter or ground cloth.
